Over the past few months, Quarryville has begun the process of preparing the land along Park Avenue for the construction of Great Rock Phase III. Heavy moving construction equipment was brought in to move the soil and cut down a row of old trees in the field along the road.
Under Pennsylvania law, activities related to new construction projects are required to use Best Management Practices (BMPs) to minimize negative impacts to the water quality of streams and other water bodies. As part of an Erosion and Sediment Plan required by the Lancaster County Conservation District, the soil for Phase III was moved and graded to re-shape the contours of the land to allow for proper drainage and to reduce soil erosion. This process will take about six months to complete. Once this step is completed, construction may begin for Phase III.
